How Many People Pass the JLPT? – Dec 2012 JLPT Results

If you are interested in taking the Japanese Language Proficiency Test (JLPT), no doubt you have wondered ‘How many people pass the JLPT?’.  It is a fair question since it gives you an idea of your chances and lets you know how hard you need to work to secure a passing score on the JLPT Exam.

Here are the results of the December 2012 JLPT Exam.  As you can see, the pass rate for the JLPT N5 is only 55% meaning that 45% of the people who took it failed.

The results for the JLPT N4 is also gloomy. In fact, it is worse than N5.  A whopping 63% failed the N4 exam.
