How to ask for directions in Japanese

Do you like getting lost? I guess not, it is better to ask for directions than wander around for hours. Do you want to know how to ask for directions in Japanese? If not, then all you need to do is learn these simple but important phrases. Soon it will be easy for you to ask for directions in Japanese whenever you need help finding where you need to go.

1.すいません、東京駅はどこですか。
Sumimasen, Tookyoo eki wa doko desu ka?
Excuse me, where is Tokyo Station?

2.タクシーのりばはどこですか。 ( tweet this ) Asking directions in Japanese
Takushii noriba wa doko desu ka?
Where is the taxi stand?
Where can I get a taxi?

3.地下鉄はどこですか。
ちかてつはどこですか。
Chikatetsu wa doko desu ka?
Where is the subway?

4.バス亭はどこですか。 ( tweet this )
Basu tei wa doko desu ka?
Where is the bus stop?

5.出口はどこですか。 ( tweet this )
でぐちはどこですか。
Deguchi wa doko desu ka?
Where is the exit?

6.近いですか。それとも遠いですか。how to say go straight in japanese
Chikai desu ka? Soretomo tooi desu ka?
Is it near? Or, is it far?

7.まっすぐに行ってください。 ( tweet this )
Massugu ni itte kudasai.
Go straight ahead.

 

8.あちらへ行ってください。
Achira e itte kudasai.
Go that way.

9.右・左に曲がってください。
Migi hidari ni magatte kudasai.
Turn right/left.

10.戻ってください。
Modotte kudasai.
Go/turn back.
