How Many People Pass the JLPT? – 2016 JLPT Results

If you are interested in taking the Japanese Language Proficiency Test (JLPT), no doubt you have wondered how many people pass the JLPT.  It is a fair question since it gives you an idea of your chances and lets you know how hard you need to work to secure a passing score on the JLPT Exam.

In 2016, the pass rate for the JLPT N5 was only 51.4% meaning that 48% of the people who took it failed.

The results for the JLPT N4 is worse than N5.  Only 37.4% passed meaning that a whopping 63% failed.

In 2015, the pass rated for the JLPT N5 was 53.9% and the N4 was 35%.

What do these scores mean for you?

You need to be very prepared for the exam especially if you are taking N4. Using the best tools, and learning some helpful techniques can go a long way in helping you to pass the JLPT.

The next JLPT N4 and N5  exams are Sunday July 2nd and Sunday December 3rd, 2017.
