Apologizing in Japanese: Sorry for Being Late

Have you ever been late and wanted to apologize?

Here are some useful Japanese phrases to say you are sorry for being late.

Osoku natte sumimasen
I am sorry for being late

You can emphasize this statement by adding ‘very’:

I am sorry for being very late.

If you are speaking to your boss or a senior person a more formal way is:
Taihen osoku nari moushi wake arimasen.
I am very sorry for being late
